Developing Resilience
Developing Resilience

Our 90 minute bite-size sessions are a great way to get quick practical tips and advice during your highly engaging and interactive virtual training. This CPD accredited session is worth 2 points.

Simply put, resilience is the ability to bounce back from adversity and take on new challenges. When the going gets tough… some people manage to carry on, whereas others are almost overwhelmed.

Some people are more resilient than others.

Resilience has become an essential in today’s workplace where everyone feels increasingly pressured to deal with constant change while getting more work done of higher quality, in new ways, with fewer people, in less time, with less budget.

In order to survive and thrive, today’s workers must learn how to cope with change, handle unexpected setbacks, and overcome emotionally draining adversities. Everyone is born with the potential to develop these abilities.

Central to resilience are our beliefs. Studies have all found that our responses to stress are to a large extent determined by our thoughts and beliefs. The way we think about stress and adversity, our beliefs about our abilities, and our attitudes toward the future have powerful effects on how we cope.

Learn how to build your capacity to cope and recover from problems, challenges and setbacks.

Handle Your Stress
Handle Your Stress

Our 90 minute bite-size sessions are a great way to get quick practical tips and advice during your highly engaging and interactive virtual training. This CPD accredited session is worth 2 points.

Everybody has it, and everybody talks about it, but nobody really knows what stress is… Why?
Because stress signifies different things for each of us, and also really is so different for each of us.

Stress is an unavoidable consequence of life. There are some stresses you CAN do something about, and others you CAN’T hope to avoid or control. The trick… is in learning to distinguish between the two.

Stress is an unfortunate fact of modern life. However pressure can have a beneficial effect, providing the extra ‘buzz’ needed to achieve a challenging deadline or find a solution to a difficult problem.

There are many pressures at work, but there is only one source of STRESS… YOU! Because stress is an individual’s response to pressure, YOU will always be the source of your own stress. Your stress will be the result of your own response to the pressures you experience at work.

Learn how to recognise and deal with your stressors at work…

  • Stress or pressure?
  • Primary causes and symptoms of stress

Mindset
Mindset

Mindset impacts the way we view the world, and how we think and act around others. In the workplace, it’s vital that we take on a growth mindset, where we allow ourselves to embrace change, learn from mistakes and develop because of them, rather than in spite of them.

Develop a growth mindset – the belief that you are in control of your own ability and can learn and improve. Positive energy in the workplace will not only transform your life but increase your team’s capacity for achieving and overachieving goals.

Negative emotions have their place, and some good process or cultural changes can stem from having tough conversations. However, it’s important to find ways to inject positive experiences into your team’s interactions to create a net positive workplace.

Our mind-set impacts our behaviour and in turn the beliefs and behaviours of others. This can either help us and the situations we face or hinder us. Inclusion is a “mindset” more than anything and believing in its value is the first step.

“Love challenges, be intrigued by mistakes, enjoy effort and keep on learning” – Carol Dweck, Professor of Psychology at Stanford University.

Psychological Safety
Psychological Safety

Any team, regardless of their applications or everyday responsibilities, require a sense of psychological safety to perform at their best.

High staff turnover, lack of motivation and productivity, breakdowns in communication and friction during conflict can all take away from high performance. Developing an environment that supports psychological safety enables employees to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively and deliver more.

It’s understandable to be reluctant to engage in behaviours that could negatively influence how others perceive our competence, awareness, and positivity. Although this kind of self-protection is a natural strategy in the workplace, it is detrimental to effective teamwork.

Learn how to create an environment that supports inclusion…

  • Overcoming self-limiting beliefs and understand self-fulfilling prophesies

Our 90 minute bite-size sessions are a great way to get quick practical tips and advice during your highly engaging and interactive virtual training. This CPD accredited session is worth 2 points.

Three in five employees have experienced mental health issues in the past year because of work, according to a YouGov survey commissioned by charity Business in the Community. So, what steps can be taken to improve wellbeing in the workplace?

So many of us (62 percent, according to a poll by Monster.com) feel that awful sense of dread on Sunday nights when contemplating the working week ahead. While it’s natural to feel sad that the sun is setting on our weekends, it’s important for our mental health that we can look forward to our return to work with a sense of excitement. After all, most of us spend more time at work than anywhere else!

Feeling anxious about your role, or your ability to rely and trust your colleagues and manager, has a seriously detrimental effect on the performance of teams at any level. On high performing teams, where stakes are higher, stress levels can skyrocket.

We can all relate to having “off days” this is inevitable in the modern world, and it’s easy for these issues to result in a day of being not at our best during work. But what if these days are more regular than good ones? And what if the cause of them is work itself?

Learn how to understand your work needs and have the confidence to speak out…

  • Understanding what we mean by wellbeing and why it matters
  • Tips and techniques to help you improve/maintain your wellbeing
  • Recognising your triggers and when you need to ask for help
  • Recognising how you can help your colleagues
  • Practice applying the skills involved

Wellbeing For Managers

Our 90 minute bite-size sessions are a great way to get quick practical tips and advice during your highly engaging and interactive virtual training. This CPD accredited session is worth 2 points.

Three in five employees have experienced mental health issues in the past year because of work, according to a YouGov survey commissioned by charity Business in the Community. So, what steps can be taken to improve wellbeing in the workplace?

So many of us (62 percent, according to a poll by Monster.com) feel that awful sense of dread on Sunday nights when contemplating the working week ahead. An unhappy and mentally unsafe workplace can affect your employees in the following ways:

  • Cause anxiety, depression and panic attacks
  • Feeling lethargic and demotivated
  • Less productive and less able to come forward with issues that need solving
  • More sick days and long-term sickness
  • High staff turnover.

No wonder then, that employers who don’t safeguard their workforce’s mental well-being are seeing the price paid from their own bottom line.

The good news is that by paying attention to our employee’s needs and thinking about how to cultivate a nurturing, productive environment, you can stop the rot before it begins and ensure your staff are relaxed, secure and confident to perform at the top of their ability.

Learn how to safeguard your workforce’s mental wellbeing…
